At Elemental5 we train in two different systems of Filipino Martial Arts. We are also the official representative of both associations. These are the Dagooc Arnis System and the Pekiti Tirsia Tactical Association. In the beginning, you may choose to focus on one style first. That being said we do have student who does both of the systems.
Dagooc Arnis System (DAS)
There are many kinds of filipino martial arts. Each style with their own speciality. This system is based on Grandmaster Rodillo 'Rodel B. Dagooc's system, better known as the Dagooc Arnis System. GM Rodel is considered as a living legend and one of the cornerstones of modern arnis. He is a protégé of the late Grand Master Remy Amador Presas, ‘the Father of Modern Arnis.’ His system was created through the culmination of years of hard-work & lifetime dedication to the art. As of present the system has been taught in Malaysia, Australia, Israel, Italy, Brunei, Spain, South America Japan, Mexico, Thailand, Germany, and various states in the US.
Pekiti Tirsia Tactical Association (PTTA)
The Pekiti Tirsia Tactical Association was founded by Tuhon Jared Wihongi in 2002. The idea of an association dedicated to the tactical application of Pekiti-Tirsia was based on Tuhon Jared’s extensive background as a Police Trainer, SWAT Operator and an Army Special Forces Combatives Instructor. Also through Tuhon Kit Acenas (Executive Director of PTTA) we train with classical methodology such as 64 attacks and the extensive doce methodos material
Pekiti-Tirsia Kali is a highly effective close-quarters fighting art indigenous to the Visayan region of the Philippines. Based on tactics and strategies derived from edged weapons, Pekiti-Tirsia Kali is a complete system incorporating both weapons and empty hands methods. Designed for both single and multiple attackers, Pekiti-Tirsia is an ancient art that has evolved to stay relevant for modern combat and self-defense scenarios.
