About Elemental5 – Martial Arts & Personal Growth

Elemental5 is a martial arts and movement academy based in Taman Paramount, Petaling Jaya.
We focus on Filipino Martial Arts, combining structured training with practical application. Our goal is simple. Help people move better, think clearer, and feel more confident in real situations.
Training is beginner friendly and built to guide you step by step.

What is Filipino Martial Arts (FMA)

Filipino Martial Arts, also known as Arnis, Kali, or Eskrima, is a weapons-based system that uses sticks and blades as a foundation.

Training with weapons develops coordination, awareness, and timing early. These skills transfer directly into empty-hand self defence, making it practical and adaptable.

Our training is built on a combination of systems and methodology:
-
Dagooc Arnis System (DAS)
-
Pekiti Tirsia Kali (PTTA)
-
Snake and Dagger methodology
-
TRICOM
These come from established Filipino martial traditions and are recognised for their practical approach to self defence.
What We Train
Dagooc Arnis System (DAS)

Founded by Grandmaster Rodel Dagooc
DAS focuses on flow, adaptability, and real-world application.
At Elemental5, we are official representatives of the Dagooc Arnis System. Training emphasises smooth transitions, practical techniques, and the ability to respond under pressure.
Under the Pekiti Tirsia Tactical Association (PTTA)
Pekiti Tirsia Kali is a structured combat system known for its precision, footwork, and edged weapon awareness.
We train under the Pekiti Tirsia Tactical Association, providing students with a strong foundation in timing, distance, and positioning.
Pekiti-Tirsia Kali

Snake & Dagger

Developed by Paulo “GN” Rubio
Snake and Dagger is a training methodology focused on timing, pressure, and application.
Elemental5 is an affiliate of Snake and Dagger, and this approach helps bridge structured drills into more dynamic and realistic situations.
Developed by Tuhon Jared Wihongi
A combatives-based training system that integrates striking, grappling, and weapon-based movement.
It helps develop coordination, decision-making, and the ability to apply techniques across different ranges.

Our Approach –
The Elements of Martial Arts
At Elemental5, we train with the guiding principles of the elements—Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, and Void. These elements represent different approaches to fighting, techniques, and personal development, aligning with the core principles of Filipino Martial Arts (FMA). Inspired by Miyamoto Musashi’s Book of Five Rings, our training emphasizes adaptability, mental discipline, and self-mastery.
-
🔥 Fire – Aggression, strength, and directness. Fire practitioners excel in offense, quick attacks, and assertiveness.
-
💧 Water – Fluidity, adaptability, and relentlessness. Water-focused fighters flow with their opponent’s movements, using their energy against them.
-
💨 Wind – Speed, precision, and distance. Wind practitioners create angles, perfect their timing, and use space to stay one step ahead.
-
🪨 Earth – Stability, defense, and grounding. Earth practitioners focus on strong positioning, defensive techniques, and balance.
-
⚪ Void – Emptiness, stillness, and openness. Void represents the ability to be free from attachment, perceiving the space between actions with clarity and mental calmness.

Our approach encourages creativity and personal expression, allowing each student to discover their unique path. Whether your focus is striking, control, or awareness, we aim to develop a well-rounded set of martial arts skills.

Fight Choreography and Film Work
At Elemental5, we also specialize in fight choreography for film and performance. Led by Clarence, our instructor, we’ve worked on several notable projects such as Barbarian Invasion and Miu Miu Women’s Tales #27 - I Am The Beauty Of Your Beauty, I Am The Fear Of Your Fear. These projects showcase how martial arts techniques can be integrated into creative storytelling through movement and choreography. You can watch our film work on YouTube and see how we bring martial arts to the screen.
